SBA Directory of Franchises

What it is

• The SBA Directory shows brands (“franchise and other business models”) that have been reviewed by the SBA
  and determined to satisfy the SBA’s eligibility and affiliation rules.
• Being listed doesn’t mean endorsement or guarantee of success — it means the brand is eligible for SBA-lending considerations.
• The Directory was reinstated June 1, 2025 after being paused for some time.

How to access the list

• On the SBA website there is a “SBA Franchise Directory” downloadable document (in Excel format) as of September 29, 2025.
• You can download it and search for franchisors by name, identifier code, start date, etc.
• Third-party sites also maintain or mirror versions of the list for browsing/searching.

Important caveats

• Just because a brand is on the list doesn’t guarantee you as a prospective franchisee will automatically get an SBA loan — you still must meet all SBA loan eligibility (loan size, your personal credit/history, collateral, etc).
• Some older entries may be “grand-fathered” into the list under previous policies.
